Renaissance Festival

It's May and do you know what that means? It means the Tennessee Renaissance Festival is back in town!
You can travel back to 16th Century England. There are over 60 skilled Artisians from all over the country displaying their wares from silks to swords; from gems to jewels. The festival-goer is greeted by aromas of specialty foods, the sounds of Renaissance musicians and merrymakers as they echo through the trees.
Color, movement, and peals of laughter welcome those who thrill to the challenges of Games of Skill and Man-Powered Rides.

It's open on 4th, 5th, 11th, 12th, 18th, 19th, 25th, 26th, 27th! And from 10:00am to 6:00pm.

Parking is free and Kids under 5 can get in for free. For those of us over five the price for one day admission is $20.

Pontypool

PontyPool is a movie very few people have heard of and it’s a shame, because it is an extremely well done film. It’s a zombie flick, while at the same time not being a zombie flick. It’s a suspense filled movie, with a twist to the modern idea of the zombie.

Mazzy used to be a certified radio superstar, but working in Pontypool is a far shot from working in the big city. Today, however, as Mazzy prepares for his regular routine of reading the weather, updating school closings, and pleading his case for a little on-air controversy to producer Sydney Bryer, the appearance of an unexpected figure signals the beginning of a disturbing phenomenon in the small town of Pontypool. Heading to work, Mazzy is nearly run over by a distraught woman who seems to have lost her grip on reality. Later, reports of a shoot-out between provincial police and a group of local ice fishers are made even more bizarre by the revelation that they were all screaming gibberish, running around nude, and missing body parts. By the time a riot breaks out in Dr. Mendez's office, it's obvious to Mazzy that the residents of Pontypool are suffering from a strange form of contagious dementia, but what has caused this bizarre outbreak and, more importantly, how can it be stopped?
The movie has little gore, and uses dialogue to build the tension, leaving it all to your imagination you are allowed to imagine the worst!
So  if you are a fan of horror movies, zombie movies, or just movies filled to the brim with suspense, take the time to watch PontyPool.
